Eating, Teeth, Baths and a New 'Do

Fun weekend celebrating DH's birthday.

Friday night, we hired a babysitter and went to see Buddy "Cake Boss" Valestro's road show. At least once a week, we gather round the TV to watch Buddy and La Famigila make amazing creations and bring smiles to his adoring fans.

To memorialize the occasion, I decided to cut my hair in a bob...just like Grace, Buddy's sister...

Morning hair
Afternoon hair - it's shorter in back
OK...I didn't really cut it for seeing Buddy.

I had planned to cut it off for awhile...especially since it's been so stinkin' hot this summer and F&G are now at a point where they compete to see who could grab a larger chunk of Mommy's hair and pull it harder. G likes to grab one piece on each side and pull me toward her face so she can give me kisses (which is more of a tongue bath).
Yesterday, during the day, we made our weekly Costco run. Since it was around lunchtime, we decided to have lunch at the Costco Cafe. As soon as we sat down, G started screaming like someone told her unicorns weren't real...so even though she had just eaten two hours before, I knew it was time to eat again...and NOW! So, while my DH sat with the babies and started lunch, I went to the car to retrieve bottles. On my way back, I passed a cart with an adorable little boy sitting in the front of his Mom's cart. He couldn't have been much older than the Twinks. He had baby-fine, bleach-blond curly hair and it looked like he either just woke up from a nap or stuck his fingers in a socket.

As he saw me pass with the two bottles, he pointed his finger and said "Ba! Ba!, Ba! Ba!" I don't think his parents heard him, but I did...and I felt like the Wicked Witch of the West. My heart just broke in two.

Last night, we hired a sitter again and went out for a nice steak dinner. About an hour before the sitter arrived, both babies got crabby. So, I just added water.

Nothing says "weekend" like a sink full of babies!
It calmed them right down. In fact, they fell asleep when the sitter arrived at 6:30 pm and she said they didn't even wake up for their 8 pm bottle! I was concerned they might wake up during the night, but nope...they both slept right through until 6:30 am like usual. Superstars!

Today, I gave each of them a pouch of fruit smoothie. F kept grabbing at his, so know what? I decided "What the heck...let him have it and squirt it all over himself. No big deal."

Guess what? He got a couple drops on his face, but 99% of that smoothie ended up in his tummy.
Just to please Mommy and give her a good picture, I did squirt a little on my forehead and chin, but I didn't have to...really.

He even figured out that when he squeezed all the fruit from the top, he had to squeeze it up from the bottom. I swear that little boy is scary smart and we're in BIG, BIG trouble.

In other news, F's right front top tooth poked through his gums on Friday. I don't think G's is far behind. I can almost feel it cutting through.

Hope you all had a great weekend! Enjoy the week!

Thanks for all the votes of approval on the new haircut. I feel 20lbs lighter and more comfortable now that all the hair is off my neck!

Lisa...you are very perceptive. I did do a color wash too (myself) to "fix" some stray grays...but it was the same as my natural color.

Hey love the new do. And you look great! I think I remember you mentioning some weight loss a time back. You can tell! Love the F and G update as usual.
