Our First Halloween - by F&G

October was filled with fun and pumpkins! I think we're gonna like Halloween!

Last year, Mom sat on the front porch in a rocking chair handing out candy because the walk from the living room to the front door with both of us still tucked inside her belly was physically difficult.  We had our own "indoor" party. Little did she know we'd be here a short 11 days later!

This year was vastly different. Mom and Dad took us to a pumpkin patch, where we tried our best to eat everything in sight - grass, hay and even pumpkins. It was a beautiful night, so we all sat on the front porch again this year, but we helped to give out candy.

F: I got a little bored with standing, so now I am "cruising" - taking steps from side-to-side while holding on. I also like to stand and let go with one arm (and sometimes two). I've also started to work on stairs. I am good at climbing up using my hands and knees, but IMHO, coming down face-forward is more exciting than feet first. I can now point (or, as Mommy likes to think, count to 1) and say a noise that sounds like "I Do" or "Idea!" (because whenever I point up, Mom always tells me "I have an idea!").

G: I can count to 1 too! I've now learned to crawl very fast and standing comes pretty naturally. I am still working on getting down from a standing position (sometimes squawking until someone "rescues" me works well) and my physical therapist says I have to start to discover that I can bend my knees. When I am in my play yard, I like to take toys away from my brother and bop him with MY toys. When he tries to take a toy away from me, I usually turn on the tears. I've also given Mom and Dad a tough time most nights when it's bedtime by screaming my head off. They just don't understand - I get to nap whenever I want - so I should be able to stay up late. It could also be that I know my Daddy will snuggle me to make me feel better...and I like to fall asleep in his arms.

We are thankful that all of our family and most of our friends back east survived superstorm Sandy ok, but some will be without power for quite awhile. Mom's heart does go out to one of her "online" friends who lost her home, and hopes that if she's reading this, she knows that her and her family are in our thoughts.

In other news, Mom got very excited the other day because she told us that they announced that the congregation at her temple approved a motion by 94% to build us a brand new school building. It's going to take a couple of years and lots of hard work to raise the money, but by the time we're ready to go to school she thinks it will be done. We are all ready to volunteer in the "Pinch our Cheeks for a Generous Donation" booth if she needs us.

I look good in orange, eh?

Awe!! So cute! You can sure tell they are twins! Their eyes I think! And IF I happen to miss the twin's first birthday coming up this Sunday, give them a kiss and hug from me! Thinking of you Flygirl...
